LIVE UR LIFE
IN YOUR OWN STYLE
Life as it, itself a wonderful thing we have, it has to be lived up to its fullest .
But how many of us are doing exactly what we like? How many of us really like what they do?
Many do the work just because they are forced to do so. Many do, just because all other people are doing. Some do, because they have been pushed into that line either by their parents or others. Also there are people who do their work for money who in most cases wont end up with mental satisfaction. These people forget one important thing that they are not living their life. They some how find way to spend their life, escape from troubles which they never succeed.
Only those who do what they like or what they love to do, can reach great heights in their life.
They are the trend setters. Here are few real life examples.
Indar, a boy who likes to have fun just like every one does, was in his seventeens. He had just hen finished his high school and was waiting for his +2 results. Soon the results came in. He got very good marks in his board exams and got into one of the top colleges comfortably. When
it was time for him to enter into the college, he was caught in a myth that the struggle with studies are over and from there on its time for enjoyment alone. He then started making fun out of everything he comes across. He and his friends formed groups called themselves VVS guys.(Varutha padatha Vaalibar Sangam). His college days were like heaven for him. Time was running so fast that before he realize anything his end semester exams arrived. He took that so lightly and never put some extra efforts to score good marks. The exams were easy. But still, he couldn't do that very well. Then he had his holidays. Again it went so quickly that he could do anything usefully.
His exam results were awaiting him when his college reopened. Marks weren't good, but not too bad either. He almost got what he expected and thought its sufficient. But actually it wasn't. More than half the strength of the class were above his marks. He felt something strange, after being a class topper all through his school days. He started realizing that it wasnt good. Then he couldnt spend his time in fun like earlier as he felt something wrong when he does so. Also he couldnt study while his friends were talking and having fun. Again time was not waiting for him. Next end semester exams came. This time it was much worser as the exams were tough. In the holidays he had after the exams, he forgot all about studies and wanted to get ovet the set back. He had fun as always spend those days in tours with his family to many places.
This time, when his college reopened he decided to do what he likes. He had unlimited fun in free times and when it was time for studies he thought only about studies. This time he felt happier than ever before. He did only those he liked. He studied when wanted to study. He went out when he wanted, talked when he intended. He found his confidence level to be increasing. He relaxed himself in studies. He found fun in reading. Meanwhile, he participated in sports and got many prices. This time his sem exams were fast approaching , he was ready take that seriously this time. With that intension he faced his exams.
He never had the slightest intention that he couldnt change his fortunes. Everything fell on his way. He got very good marks and was among the toppers this time.
So, Indar, as he started living his life in his own style, tasted the fruits of it.
he chose his own life style and lived his life in style.
Alex, had a big craze for cars right from his childhood. He loved watching F1 racing in television. Even when he was a small child, he preferred car toys to play with. When he grew up, his craze for cars was also growing. He learnt driving in a very early age. But his father wanted him to become a software engineer. So his father bought him a computer. But this guy uses that computer only for playing games, car races in particular. He wasnt that much intrested in studies though he wasnt bad at it. He studies for compelsion but his passion was only car driving.
Whenever he happened to go out with his family in their car, this guy takes up the driver seat.
He completed his schooling. It was time for him to choose a career. He took to sofware engineering as per his fathers wish and also because he has no oppourtunity to go for driving in his small town. His college was in the capital of the state. He was an intelligent boy. He was good at studies but had no interest. As time progressed, he was loosing interest in studies. He started getting low marks. He was doing everything fine but couldnt concentrate in his studies as before.
He started to spend more time on making fun with his friends, to get over his some kind of stress. But his passion for driving never decreased.
One day he happened to go out with his friends to watch car race which was organised by MRF like a talent hunt for kids. There was also a race for those under his age group. Once he knew that Alex got very much excited and thought of participation since the entry fees was optimum and was affordable for him with any little help from his friends. But this poor guy didnt know that it has to be registered earlier. He got to knew that only when he approached the organisers. They turned down his request and send him off. He was standing there with regrets for himself.
He thought he had missed one golden opportunity.
But the lady luck smiled at him. When Alex and his friends decided to make a move. There was a voice in the loud speakers, that said that one of the participant couldnt make it up there as he met with an accident. So one of the cars is free and any one from the audience under this age group can participate. For Alex The words seemed to come from heaven. The next moment he was in the track inside his car in the last pole. The race started and consisted of 10 laps. There were 8 participants. In the first lap, he overtook two cars. In the next three laps another three cars. His fifth lap was the fastest that saw him beating two more cars. At the start of eighth lap he was placed second. His friends were cheering for him. Other audiences also supported him on seeing his incredible driving. Only one car was ahead with the last lap to go. The two cars were racing like anything. In two turnings he almost overtook him, yet he couldnt do that completely. Only two more tunings were there. The crowd was cheering "Alex... come on... do it.""come on Alex.. you can do it.. come on"...And he did, just that in style. He crossed the finishing line just milliseconds ahead of the other car to claim the first place. Alex was declared the winner. That was big turning point in his life.
After that spectacular victory, he got immense confidence and started to participate in many other races, whenever happened, in the city and got many prices. He started getting sponsers for him. After that he never turned back in his life. He started racing in international circuits. His success was increasing exponentially. He was coming up level by level in the formula racings. He faced success whereever he go. His father now supported him ,was ready to do any help for him. He is yet to make his formula 1 debut and am sure he would make it soon.
See this is what one can do if he has passion for on thing and he constantly aims at it.
Good luck guys.
Live your life in your own style.
Have an identity for yourself.
All the best...
see you guys..

***JOY -> GLOOM -> JOY again***

It was a colorful morning and the whole day indeed. Some of my friends were on a visit to Black Thunder, a theme park. The sky was dark. The rain clouds started showering on us from dawn till dusk. We were taking bath the whole day (coz of rain). We reached the park at around 6’o clock in the morning. We had awesome fun over there. Each and every ride was exhilarating. The drizzling added color to the picture. We spent the whole day with water. A gud relation blossomed between water and us. It lasted only for short duration of time and it wanted to come out of us thru the nose the next day itself.

The theme park is quite isolated from the city and so we were running out of bus frequency. We didn’t have patience to wait for a bus and thus planned to get on to some lorry passing by and we stopped one of the lorries too. The ride was very fun as well. It left wid us a feeling as though we are moving on a chariot. We were too tired to continue rolling. Our legs were in search for a place to halt. At last, we decided to rest our feet in one of our friends’ place. The next day morning, his parents were out and there was nobody else in his home.

Here begins de enjoyment. Some of us were watching TV, and some playing pc games, few sticked onto kitchen, as though they are all big catering degree holders, preparing their own dishes. We left nothing in his home. All de resources were exhausted from sugar to honey. We didn’t miss even a piece of lemon. One of us, Mr.X, thought of making lemon juice out of it. Since he couldn’t find sugar, he rolled out to get it. After getting sugar, he saw a man selling jackfruit nearby across the other side of the road. He, being invited by its smell, thought of having one. The fate starts its game here.. As it was on the other side of the road, he crossed de road and bought half a dozen. One could find only a sparse no. of vehicles passing thru this way as the area is quite isolated from the city. So people used to drive their vehicles very faster. It seems, they would get a feeling that they are inside some cockpit and driving a jet. I’ve never seen such a rash driving (except in the tracks of F1-Racing and MOTOGP). He kicked off the vehicle and tried to cross the road. In doing so, he found a goof heading towards him in PULSOR. This foolish fellow was watching him wid his gob opened. Widin a flick of moment, Mr.X was found missing. People said that this poor fellow was seen under the vehicle.

When I heard about this incident, It reminded me about “The final destination” (movie). It all happened in a blink of eye. It was one of the terrific incidents that I’ve ever heard. Gaining conscious, he rose slowly and when he was trying to rest his foot, he was shocked to see his foot hanging. He slipped off. It really happened…. Nobody would hav escaped from this seen widout vomiting (half boil) and he was not an exceptional. There were no helping hands around him. A traffic man, finally came for help. He arranged for an auto-rickshaw and guided towards a hospital nearby.

We people were sitting in his home and enjoying. We got a call from a private number. Yeah.. it was a call from that policeman. The voice said, ”Your friend met wid an accident. He gave this no. when asked for a contact no. Do come and take care of your friend.” Having heard about this, we all rushed to the hospital. He was given anesthesia. At first, we thought of handling it by ourselves.. Later, we decided to inform the matter to his parents and informed too… His parents arrived there and he was getting treatment for a week. We used to visit him daily in the hospital. On one Tuesday, he was called for the operation. This goose, when asked for giving anesthesia, said, ” Not necessary doctor! Please playback the FM radio” and even they played it too. See how humorous he is. He never minded about his injury. He possessed a terrific confidence that he will get well soon. Today, he’s able to ride a bicycle and can run indeed. We people hav gotta think positively like this and we’ve got to face every problems wid confidence.

I can be your Hero!!

It has been 8 years…And I have heard nothing about her. She was lost in the meadows…I thought, she is gone forever. But today morning, I got a call from her. She is out there…and she wants to meet me. She is in trouble…

“Hey Vignesh, you are the dumbest and the most idiotic person I have ever seen on earth. How can you be such a fool and an insane to be this stupid?”

Hmm…Yup! These were her words…One of my best pals in school days. She was one of the most caring person I have ever come across in my life. She took every right on me and scolded me to the brim…She wanted to see me as a great personality…She wished I should someday be talked by hundreds and thousands of masses. She…was a gem of a person. I liked her…may be I should restrict it to that now. I never had the guts to think about anything more than that. But at times, the “What If” thoughts popped up my mind…I knew it would be devesting the existing healthy friendship that we share.

Adolescence is when the mind contradicts with deeds. The natural attraction to a person of opposite sex is unavoidable. Well…And I am also a common man to experience these. I admired her. I liked the way she mingled with her classmates. Her softness, humbleness and her shyness to new people and elders is something that makes every person fall for her. And I was feeling so damn lucky to be in close contacts with such a person. She has been the heart throb of my school…Her cute looks was a major attraction for guys. Well and they attracted me too.

After the call I slowly rolled out…My car was with the mechanic. I had to get a public transport. She had asked me to come over to a nearby restaurant. I have never been to that restaurant. I hired a cab and got down at 09.30 AM. She had asked me to come over at 10. But, anxiety and enthusiasm urged me to come earlier. I was waiting in table 11. She said she had booked that table for the both of us. Plainly calm, I was waiting for her, recapping all those olden day memories.

We spoke through telephone for hours together. The whole school was in a way jealous of the relation we shared. The more my guy mates envied me, the more I started enjoying her company and feeling lucky. The board exams were approaching and we were on study holidays. I had to report to her everyday at the end of my study session through phone. And she did the same. We couldn’t meet and I started missing her. I knew I was falling for her and was getting crazier day by day. My exams were primary to me and I did concentrate on them. I had no clue if she really missed me and if she had such feelings.

The exams got over. We did pretty well and were satisfied. It was then vacation time. And I had to find an opportunity or a reason to call her up. I started missing her even more as this time around I had nothing to keep myself engaged. I called her up one day and arranged for a meet up that evening. Extremely private, it was planned along the corner of a dull street. She came in and I was trembling with fear, anxiety and worry. We had a formal talk for a while. Later on…

I told her, “Am missing you millions. I don’t know why, but these are days I really feel like being partitioned from you. And…And I wonder how I gonna put up without you if the necessity comes.”

She said, “Don’t worry, I will be with you always.”

“Always???”

“Hmm…Always…”

“Always next to me??…within my reach of my eye sight?”

“May be not, but u still can feel me within deep”

I took the hint. She just wanted to convince me. I wanted to tell her that she meant something more than that to me.

“Hmm…yeah! But…yes!...ahhh…I wanna tell you something. Please do not mistake me. I am dying out here everyday without telling you this.”

“Whats that??”

“Well….as you know I like you a lot. And sometimes I feel like dying off without you. I don’t know why. But I really want you for this lifetime. For this whole lifetime!”

“hmm…that means?”

“ I am in love with you.”

For a second her face turned pale. She didn’t have any words. A mix of unhappiness and depression…I suppose she didn’t expect this from me. I felt ashamed for a moment but felt much relieved for venting it out. I felt as if I had removed the rock that was lying within me. She turned back, raced her vehicle and was off. She spoke not a word…I never called her then and we didn’t talk to each other. I felt isolated.

A few days later, I had to go out to my aunt’s place far away from my hometown for a month. I knew I wouldn’t be able to call her from there. I wanted to talk to her for one last time before leaving. I did,

“hi”

“hmm…”

“I am leaving to my aunt’s place. Just wanted to talk to you for one last time.”

“Hmm…”

“I will be back only after a month.”

“Ok”

“I haven’t got a response for…...”

“I need time.”

“Hmm…Okie…”

---Silence---

“Okie. I am leaving. I don’t know if I will be able to call you when am there. So, just wanted to tell you, I am missing you…And am gonna miss you tons.”

“Hmm…”

“Take care…bye”

“….”

---Beep Beep Beep---

I left to my aunt’s place. And in this while her dad got transferred to another station and they shifted over. She didn’t inform me about that…she let none know about this. She left me in pain…She left me in sorrows…She left me in utter unhappiness, displeasure and dismay. I cried…cried everyday…cried till I lost all my energy…Every night was a nightmare for me. She haunted my dreams. Every small thing reminded me of her. She was everywhere. She was right when she said, “u still can feel me within deep”.

Someone opened the door. It was her…the same cute looks of an innocent girl…My Greatest Friend…She took her seat and glanced at me. She knew I had been longing to see her. My throat was choking and I had no words…I couldn’t come up with a “hi” or “how are you?”…Finally, I managed to get something out…

“How did u get my number?”

“I know everything about you.”

Then she showed me her diary that contained all my old telephone numbers, my addresses, my e-mail ids, my office address including one abroad. I was dumbstruck as I knew nothing about her…while she knew everything about me.

“Where have you been these many days…hiding from me?? Why didn’t you try to contact me even when you knew about my whereabouts?”

“I wanted to see you as a man…A man of great regard…not only for me, but for the whole community…which you are now.”

I didn’t speak a word. She then told me this…something which I couldn’t digest…something I couldn’t withstand or never expected…

“I love you….and I wanna marry you…”

I didn’t know what was happening around…for a moment I was lost…I didn’t know how to react to this…

“But…why suddenly??”

“I have been in love with you even since school days…”

She showed me her diary…dating 8 years back…I realized how crazy she has been about me. She was in love with me!!!!!!!!!!!! I couldn’t believe it. I wanted to hug her…and tell her that I love her more than anything else…I stood up and sat in the chair next to her…putting my hands around her shoulder…I said,

“You mean a world to me!”

“And so do you…”

Then she searched her bag for something…she took out an invitation and showed it to me…And this was another shock…A thunder which made me take back my hands from her shoulder. It was her marriage invitation…

“I am being forced to get married…But I really want you for this lifetime. For this whole lifetime…”

I hugged her tight…Cried…And kissed her…

*** The beginning of an ending. ***

All rite…now please don’t ask me who this girl is. All the characters in this episode are just imaginary. I have never written this kind of posts. Just wanted to give it a try…Am sorry if it didn’t appeal you…And once again, this is purely imaginary!!

GOOGLE FACTS

· The prime reason the Google home page is so bare is due to the fact that the founders didn't know HTML and just wanted a quick interface. In fact it was noted that the submit button was a long time coming and hitting the RETURN key was the only way to burst Google into life.

· Due to the sparseness of the homepage, in early user tests they noted people just sitting looking at the screen. After a minute of nothingness, the tester intervened and asked 'What’s up?' to which they replied "We are waiting for the rest of it". To solve that particular problem the Google Copyright message was inserted to act as a crude end of page marker.

· One of the biggest leap in search usage came about when they introduced their much improved spell checker giving birth to the "Did you mean..." feature. This instantly doubled their traffic, but they had some interesting discussions on how best to place that information, as most people simply tuned that out. But they discovered the placement at the bottom of the results was the most effective area.

· The infamous "I feel lucky" is nearly never used. However, in trials it was found that removing it would somehow reduce the Google experience. Users wanted it kept. It was a comfort button.

· Orkut is very popular in Brazil. Orkut was the brainchild of a very intelligent Google engineer who was pretty much given free reign to run with it, without having to go through the normal Google UI procedures, hence the reason it doesn't look or feel like a Google application. They are looking at improving Orkut to cope with the loads it places on the system.

· Google makes changes small-and-often. They will sometimes trial a particular feature with a set of users from a given network subnet; for example Excite@Home users often get to see new features. They aren't told of this, just presented with the new UI and observed how they use it.

· Google has the largest network of translators in the world

· They use the 20% / 5% rules. If at least 20% of people use a feature, then it will be included. At least 5% of people need to use a particular search preference before it will make it into the 'Advanced Preferences'.

· They have found in user testing, that a small number of people are very typical of the larger user base. They run labs continually and always monitoring how people use a page of results.

BLOOPERS

GOOGLE BOMBING:

A Google bomb or Googlewash is a certain attempt to influence the ranking of a given page in results returned by the
Google search engine, often with humorous or political intentions. Due to the way that Google's PageRank algorithm works, a page will be ranked higher if the sites that link to that page all use consistent anchor text. A Google bomb is created if a large number of sites link to the page in this manner. The results of searching for “Miserable failure” on Google. In one of the better known Google Bombings, the site was manipulated so that the first Miserable failure result links to George W. Bush's biography on the official White House web site. The very next entry reflects a similar situation with Michael Moore.

Earlier, the result for “go to hell” on Google gave the website of Microsoft as the first link. However, this has been rectified over years. But the resulting links for “Miserable failure” is proving to be a Miserable Failure to be rectified.

COMMA ROCKET BURST:

The first rocket launched by NASA burst during take-off. Do you know why? Because the developer missed a ‘comma’ in the COBOL program that was used to run the rocket !

INTERNET EXPLORER - A THREAT:

MICROSOFT has alerted users of ‘critical’ security flaws in Internet Explorer which could compromise the Windows operating system. The company flagged two new vulnerabilities affecting Internet Explorer versions 5.01, 5.5 and 6 – the most serious of which could enable an attacker to run arbitrary code on a user %u2019s system if it browsed a hostile website or opened a specially crafted HTML-based e-mail message. For example, an attacker could run programs on a computer used to view the attacker’s website, Microsoft said. The vulnerability affects computers that have Internet Explorer as their web browser to be affected by the issue.

WHEN WINDOWS HANGED….But probably the most remembered blooper took place during the official launch of Microsoft Windows 98. When the system was booted, first the windows logo was shown and as expectant faces looked up to the screen the system characteristically hung and then displayed the infamous blue screen of death. The operator quickly restarted the machine saving any more face loss for Bill Gates.
